Volunteer for the Garden Tour

2022 Garden Tour Volunteers Wanted

We’re seeking volunteers to help put on the 2020 Native Plant Garden Tour. The tour usually takes place in late April, but the planning, coordinating and connecting begins in January. In prior years, hundreds of people had the opportunity to tour 24 water-wise, wildlife-friendly gardens. With your assistance, the next tour could be exponentially more successful. Interested? Contact Bob Hall at bilgepump100@sbcglobal.net. Or just email: yerba.buena.cnps.chapter@gmail.com

Volunteers are needed for the following positions:

  • Garden Tour Chair: We’re looking for a master planner. You will coordinate with volunteers, communicate with garden hosts and share contracts with CNPS HQ. Rest easy, previous tour experts are standing by to help make your job flow smoothly.

  • Garden Scout: You’ll help find new home gardens for the tour and contact previous garden hosts to gauge their interest in participating in 2018.

  • Publicity Assistant: You’ll work with our Publicity Chair to contact local news media, write and modify press releases, post garden tour photos on social media networks, connect with digital publications and distribute flyers to various organizations.

  • Co-Host Coordinator: You’ll help match SFSU students with garden hosts and make sure they are there to welcome visitors, sign them in and distribute maps and handouts.
