Technical and Media Volunteer Positions

Got technical skills? We need you to help Biodiversity blossom! We're searching for...

Social Media and Publicity Coordinator

We need someone who can help express our passion for protecting our natural history, educating the public and preserving biodiversity in San Francisco and Northern San Mateo Counties. You will help drive engagement with the public by publicizing our field trips, speaker programs, conservation advocacy issues, plant sales and garden tours across social media channels and local event calendars.

Graphic Designer

We need someone who can design signs, flyers and print-ready material as beautiful as our native plants. The designer needs to be imaginative, experimental, organized and eager to contribute to a collaborative team. The amount of graphic design work you’ll do is relatively small in scope and periodic.

Word Press Administration and enhancement

In 2017 CNPS Yerba Buena launched this website: https://cnps-yerbabuena.org/

We have ongoing needs for a WordPress administrator with regularly occurring and one-time events. This volunteer should have experience with Word Press and familiarity with several WP Plugins and tools. Familiarity with Google Calendar and Luminate is a plus. Administration is required approximately 3 hours per month to keep up with chapter programs, special events and add articles written for the chapter's newsletter.

We also need a creative individual who can design and incorporate new ideas and functions as they become available.

SF Biodiversity Database Administration, User Interface

Help us design a database interface application that will guide our community in making informed decisions about which of our nearly 500 native plant species will do best for their backyard, or urban space design. The vision is make our existing science based data of these beautiful and sometimes unique plants to fit the overall goals of the site by entering desired criteria and location. If you have skills in database design or web based user interface we need you to help us make the coolest plant selection tool SF has ever seen. We got the data, we need your know-how!

Newsletter

Want to share your knowledge of local plants and animals? Or, want to interview and report on those who are active in the local environmental community? The newsletter team is in need of writers to create fascinating content.
