Plants for Birds, a natural partnership:
CNPS Yerba Buena and East Bay Chapters
and Golden Gate Bird Alliance
Native Bird-Friendly Plants are a list of local, native plants available at participating local nurseries which will attract birds to your garden.
These short lists of easy to grow native plants will provide a feast for many beautiful bird species with berries and seeds, nectar, insects, and also support butterfly and moth larvae.
The best time to plant is after the first heavy rain of the season. To learn more, check out our Gardening for Birds Brochure
This fall or winter support local nurseries through your purchase of local native plants. Stop by one of the local nurseries featured and shop for one or more of the native plants for birds. This will encourage nurseries to stock local native plants benefiting our local birds.
