2019 Garden Tour Volunteers Wanted
We’re seeking volunteers to help put on the 2019 Native Plant Garden Tour. The tour usually takes place in late April, but the planning, coordinating and connecting begins in January 2019. In past Garden Tours, hundreds of people have had the opportunity to tour 24 water-wise, wildlife-friendly gardens. With your assistance, the 2019 tour could be exponentially more successful. Interested? Contact Susan Floore at firstname.lastname@example.org or Bob Hall at email@example.com
Volunteers are needed for the following positions:
- Garden Tour Project Coordinator: We’re looking for a master planner. Some of the tasks include setting a date, getting a commitment from the 30 or so past garden hosts, creating a poster (with the help of our graphic designer) tour map and a press release, working with our web team to get garden photos and info posted to our website, spreading the word through traditional and social media, handling insurance paperwork and more. Rest easy, previous tour experts are standing by to help make your job flow smoothly and to help out with the details.
- Garden Scout: You’ll help find new home gardens for the tour and contact previous garden hosts to gauge their interest in participating in 2018.
- Publicity Assistant: You’ll work with our Publicity Chair to contact local news media, write and modify press releases, post garden tour photos on social media networks, connect with digital publications and distribute flyers to various organizations.
- Co-Host Coordinator: You’ll help match SFSU students with garden hosts and make sure they are there to welcome visitors, sign them in and distribute maps and handouts.
