Support the CNPS mission to conserve California native plants and their natural habitats, and increase understanding, appreciation, and horticultural use of native plants.
-Communicate the historical significance of San Francisco area native plants to our members and the public in many forms. Define and describe the importance of biodiversity and downsides of non-native weeds so it’s easily understood and digested.
-Write advocacy articles for distribution in local publications and social media as well as talking points for citizen advocates at commission meetings.
-Create brochures, PDFs and website copy that encourages the use of native plants in restorations sites, backyard gardens, curbside gardens and public lands.
-Develop and oversee scholarship opportunities for high schools and universities.
-Create and coordinate natural history trips with teachers and students.
-Develop tools and resources for city officials and land managers.
